We have current have two types of event. First Saturday Quads (entry fee required) and our 10+ year old weekly free (quick/rapid rated Tuesday Night Quick (TNQ) (read below). Come out, meet, and enjoy a game with local players. All are welcome. Just bring your board or clock. If you don't have either, come out anyway. Get off the computer and meet some people who play. Make friends with people who love the game as much or even more than you.

What is a Quad? Quad tournaments use players' ratings to rank them into groups of 4 players who play a mini-round robin. Each four-player group will play three games (player #1 vs #4 & #2 vs #3). If the last grouping is not a perfect foursome, then that group will be a 3-round mini-swiss tournament of 5 to 7 players. The format benefit is that your foursome is closest to your current rating.
USCF Dual-Rated 3-round Quads tournament; All Rounds are Game in 50 minutes with 5-second delay. PRIZES: $60 for first place at each Quad (if two players tied for 1st place $30 each). Last section (small swiss) 1st $50 / 2nd $30.

There are normally 40 to 60 players who compete for as many as 3 rounds of play. Time: 6:00 to closing. Round 1 starts @ 6:00p. USCF ID# required. No fee. Three to four rounds of Quick rated chess.
Traffic? Yes, you'll encounter traffic anywhere you go in this growing city. If you hate traffic, wait and come at 7:00 and get in a few rounds. We'll be there until 9.

Now offered through partnership with ScholasticChess.Org. See their site for enrollment details. Classes are currently being offered and overseen by JAXCC's organizer with a team of 7 coaches.
