Scholastic Series (Grades K-12 only) Final Event

Winter Scholastic Series (Grades K-12 only) Final Event 

Entry: $20 general / JAXCC $15 members (use discount)

Time: 8:30 to 9:15 am Check in & Walk-up Registration  (Cash or APR 31st @ 11:00pm (credit card only)

Play: 4 rounds of play with time control of 60 minutes total playing time. G/30;d5 via chess clock. 

Round 1 starts at 9:30. Note the 30 minute later start time. Play is usually completed by 3 pm

Sections: 2 sections.

K-6 U700 - Beginner/novice section for those who can play a complete game and are Kindergarten to 6th grade. This is a great starter section for first time tournament players. 

K-12 OPEN: More competitive players who are ready to test their skill at the next level or are middle or high schoolers. Players in this group are USCF rated above 700 and we have had players rated as high at 1500 in this section. Some younger players "play up" to this level to find better competition. 

All players must be USCF members with USCF ID # can join USCF on site.

Prizes: Trophies to top 3 finishers in each section.  Grand prix points to all participants that count toward series trophy levels when combined with wins or draws.
