2018-JAXCC-WINTER-CDP2

We will sort them by ability and the fun will begin! We have lectures, drill, games, and USCF rated play. All participants must be JAXCC & USCF members, but we take care of that at registration. All households get a tournament chess set, board and carry bag. Every student gets a club T-shirt too.

JAXCC Chess Development Program for youth club members

Our program is one of the best for developing solid beginner to intermediate level youth players. Last semester we had 60 kids enrolled and ended with a 60 player tournament. See the 2018 Winter tournament results

Our goal is to present chess in a way that creates a love for the game and skills improvement in ever player. Along the way, many of them become "chess buds" who socialize and get together away from chess. Our US Chess Certified instructors are great with kids and are tournament players themselves. Our kids continue to astound us with winning performances at local, state and national tournaments. See images from last month's National TournamentOpens in a new window

Our training features skill based sections for focused player development from absolute beginners to our top group of seasoned tournament players rated near 1000 USCF. Our staff of USCF Certified Coaches and solid tournament players understand how to help your player grow quickly in skill and confidence.

Our students have fun while being challenged to approach the game with enthusiasm the expectation to do their best at every encounter. Our students have embraced competing at national, state and local chess tournaments and have placed in all three. We're very proud of them, but mostly for making friendships that means they have friends who play and are always at every event they attend. This makes a big difference in staying with a program. You go where your friends go and their friends are chess players.
