Scholastic Parents, members and friends:
US Chess has declared Oct. 14th as National Chess Day and we're joining with ScholasticChess.org to present a festival of chess activity at MOSH. This unique event will be the first of what we hope to be an annual event to build upon every year.
Please read about the two events below. There will also be an exhibition of chess sets and other exciting chess activities for kids. The entry fee includes full access to Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History for all players. THIS IS A USCF RATED EVENT and all tournament players must have USCF ID. Free NATION CHESS DAY FESTIVAL t-shirt to all tournament players.

2017 National Chess Day Tournament
Who: K-12 students
When: Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 10:00a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Museum of Science and History (MOSH)
1025 Museum Circle., Jacksonville, FL 32207
Entry Fee: Mail-in $30.00/student or $31.00 at PayPal
Prizes: Individual / Team trophies: grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

section and ALL participants receive a Chess Festival T-Shirt.

Bughouse Chess Tournament
K – 12th grade students. Four divisions:
K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 (we reserve the right to combine)
Teams consist of two players each.
Trophies for top 3 teams in each section
When: Saturday, Oct. 14, 3:00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Where: Museum of Science and History 1025 Museum Circle, Jacksonville, FL 32207
Note: Parent/Adult accompanying student must pay admission to Museum ($12.50). There is no museum fee for the student.
Format: 4-Rd Swiss (ALL play 4 games) G/5(10 minutes total)
Per Player Entry Fee: Mail-in $25.00 or $26.00 via Pay Pal
